Mounting shares via CIFS after disabling SMB1

A long explanation should be inserted here, but I am too busy lately to do any updates here much less write up a lengthy explanation.  So, this is what you came to look for.

If you have an fstab mount that stopped working after you disabled SMB1 in your Samba server make the following change:


//servername/sharename /mnt/foobar cifs noauto,guest,uid=1000,iocharset=utf8 0 0


//servername/sharename /mnt/foobar cifs noauto,guest,uid=1000,iocharset=utf8,vers=2.1 0 0
